Flying Taxi Stand
Discover how we designed a protective enclosure for a 'Flying Taxi Stand' at Charing Cross Station, incorporating practical safety measures.
Phase 1.
Striking The Perfect Balance - Aesthetics & Safety
Candid were tasked with creating a protective enclosure around an innovative “Flying Taxi” exhibit at London’s Charing Cross Station, ensuring it grabbed attention while keeping visitors safe in a bustling environment.
While the taxi itself drew plenty of attention, our primary focus was on creating a custom wall that highlighted its cutting-edge appeal. The aim was to strike a balance between eye-catching aesthetics and practical safety measures, ensuring commuters could engage with this vision of the future without disrupting the station’s foot flow.
Phase 2.
The Challenge
Our design involved a wooden wall with custom vinyl graphics, blending safety with engaging visuals. We managed every detail—from site surveys and risk assessments to coordinating carpenters and installers—keeping the project on time and within station guidelines.
Structure build and vinyl wrapping were completed onsite against a tight timeline overnight before the station reopened!
Phase 3.
The Results
The final installation generated buzz across social media and received positive coverage in local and national press, including The Sun. This spotlight showcased the thrilling potential of electric flying taxis and highlighted our role in delivering a high-profile, secure installation.
Candid also managed the safe & secure removal of the project once the event was over.
